Who did you write Harry Helps Grandpa Remember for?
I wrote HHGR so children can experience the special love between Harry and his Grandpa. Harry will do ANYTHING to help his grandpa remember. I want children to appreciate and spend more time with their grandparents.
What effect do you want Harry Helps Grandpa Remember to have on children?
I hope Harry Helps Grandpa Remember will engage children in a fun story where Harry promises to help his grandpa solve his memory problem, and help him to remember. Children will become active participants in guessing how harry will help grandpa. And subsequently more aware of their grand-parents, memories, memory loss, brain health and coping skills
What makes Harry different to similar themed books?
Harry shares specific strategies that children can use to help their loved ones to not only remember, but have the sparkle in their eyes return.
Who has embraced Harry Helps Grandpa Remember already?
Counsellors, teachers and libraries already have purchased copies and are using the story pro-actively as biblio-therapy to empower children to cope with memory loss in someone they love and care for. Many schools are planning to use Harry Helps Grandpa Remember for a unit on Grandparents Day incorporating the book and children’s activities including puppets, dot-to-dot and sequencing.
