I've neglected this blog recently since SO MUCH has been happening in my life that's led to a wee bit of cutting back, but this weekend, after hearing some tales of how publishers aren't taking on MG books with 13-year-old protagonists, I shouted about my MG frustrations on Twitter and asked for book suggestions so I could stock up my library. YOU ALL CAME THROUGH BIG TIME! The conversation sure did take a few twists and turns, with some librarians, teachers, and authors chipping in their thoughts and opinions (read the whole thread here), but... I decided to list the books right here with their Goodreads links for everyone to see and refer to. And, I hope to keep this list growing and growing, so leave your book recommendations in the comments below or send them to me by email or DM, and I'll add them. I haven't read all of these books so, please, if any shouldn't be here - i.e. they are definitely NOT suitable for MG readers - or are problematic, TELL ME! Eventually I will list them alphabetically and include some brief details about the content/genre, but that's for another day when I have time! And before I go, if you're a teacher, librarian, educator, guardian, author, publisher, agent, and all the rest in between, I would LOVE to hear your experiences of reading and finding and writing books for this strange MG/YA crossover, the "no man's land" of age groups. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
