I am totally not exaggerating when I say that today, I'm bursting with an excitement only understood by children on Christmas Eve. My beautiful Hampshire rose, my friend, my writing buddy, my support group; E.L. Wicker, on this special day, becomes a published author! Please join me in celebrating the release of...
The first in a new series aimed at New Adults, Fractured Immortal is the tale of Ilia Rose, a vampire and tortured soul, and Nathaniel Dayton, also a vampire but with secrets that will force them together. For a chance to win a digital copy of Fractured Immortal see the end of this post.
After a terrifying vampire attack in 1810, Ilia Rose spends the next two centuries hunting Sol, the man responsible for turning her and her friends into vampires. When Ilia discovers he’s run to the one place she’s running from, she’s forced to face her most painful memories back in her hometown, Bearwood.
There, Ilia finds herself face to face with Nathaniel, an insanely hot vampire, and despite the evidence he’s working for her enemy, Ilia can’t fight her attraction to him, especially when he seems to show up whenever she needs him most.
But Nathaniel is keeping secrets and as they begin to unravel, instead of running away from him, Ilia finds herself falling for him. When his last secret is revealed Ilia’s past comes together in a way she never imagined and she’s left with only one option: trust Nathaniel to help her kill Sol, or risk relinquishing her new found strength thus causing catastrophic and devastating consequences for her and everyone she loves.
Ilia begins a gut-wrenching battle to save her life and the lives of her friends, a battle which not everyone will survive.
A vampire tale like none other, love, pain, devastation and revenge, all weave together to create the first in a dark and unmissable New Adult series.
Due to sexual content, this book is intended for readers age 18+.
E.L. Wicker lives in
England with her husband and two children. A connoisseur of not having the foggiest about anything and an intrepid dreamer, writing became the obvious choice. After ditching a pursuit of a professional career in psychology, E.L. Wicker chose to immerse herself in her own little world where bullying characters vie for attention, demanding she put them on a page. So she did.
I am so very proud of Emma and the hard work and dedication she has showered over her work. She deserves every success. I strongly recommend you read the first in this new series; it's absolutely awesome. And I believe, perhaps, my most favourite cover of the year! Follow the links below to purchase, or enter the giveaway to win a digital copy. And please, please remember to leave a review. Authors deserve this much.
Move over authors! It’s my turn to announce some exciting news!
Finally, after a couple of years donning my thick skin and a pair of slush-pile wellies, I’ve done it. An editor loves my book, a contract is signed; I will soon be a published author.
How cool is this?!
I won’t babble on about all the goings on in between that first embarrassing submission (I put mine and the agent’s address in the wrong places on the letter) and writing my signature on that dotted line; you’ll find a snippet of that over at Literary Rejections website. But, it’s safe to say, it’s been an odd ride. Emotional, of course. Confusing, most definitely. Educating, thankfully.
I’ve come a long way, not to mention how far my book has. I never thought the day would come, but giving up wasn’t an option. Too many people told me they loved the book, too many. And I’m talking industry professionals, not just Mum and Dad. (Who did love it, by the way!) How could I let them down? Why should I let those rejections, of which I lost count, make me think I couldn’t do it? And overshadow the support and enthusiasm my story had gained? Uh-uh. I’m too proud for that.
In the end, I was lucky enough to have a choice as to who I published with, and the most important thing I did in helping me make my decision, was to remind myself why I ever wrote in the first place. Enjoyment, happiness and sanity. My heart and creative passion took over, which made the outcome obvious.
So thank you, Jet Black Publishing. Brand squeaking new. Fresh. Fun. And best of all, a huge supporter of the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation. (20% of all sales are donated to them.) I’m ecstatic to be working with these guys and I can’t wait to introduce you all to Winell Road.
Now I take the next steps on my writing path. Marketing, launch parties (there’ll be cake so it’s only right to make this plural), reviews, giveaways, book tours. I can’t wait for all of it. I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me stay afloat. From my fabulous family to my marvellous social media mates. Forever indebted. You guys rock!
